Why is effective LOTO training so important?
Workers servicing or maintaining machines or equipment may be seriously injured or killed if hazardous energy is not properly controlled. Injuries resulting from the failure to control hazardous energy during maintenance activities can be serious or fatal! Injuries may include electrocution, burns, crushing, cutting, lacerating, amputating, or fracturing body parts, and others. In fact, the average lockout/tagout related injury will require 24 workdays away from work to recuperate. That's why it's important to only have employees who are properly trained in controlling hazardous energy performing lockout/tagout.

What is hazardous energy?
The types of energy sources that need to be controlled will include:

  • electricity

  • hydraulic

  • pneumatic

  • steam

  • pressure

  • chemical

  • thermal

  • radiation

  • gravity

Why consider VR?
Studies and case examples from companies like Walmart, Verizon, and PwC show that VR training supports the workplace by increasing learning speed and skill retention, reducing safety incidents, improving employee engagement, and providing cost-effective scalability. VR allows for realistic, hands-on practice in a safe environment, leading to higher confidence and competency in employees across various industries, from healthcare, construction and aviation to manufacturing and retail.
